Get To Know… Recipient Jim Daniele
Every donor dollar goes directly to a Trish’s Angels beneficiary dealing with ALS.
Before his ALS diagnosis in early 2013, Jim was an avid camper, fisherman and bicyclist. The disease’s progression has since left him unable to enjoy these activities, as well as most basic day-to-day functions. He draws strength from his girlfriend and granddaughters, who provide both physical and emotional care. Learn more about Jim and other Trish’s Angels recipients by visiting our web site.

Trish’s Angels In Action
We’ve been busy generating awareness at events like the 2014 MDA Walk in Orange County, where we were honored to meet recipient Kelley Patterson and her family in person. The ALS Research Symposium Meeting (hosted by the Orange County chapter of the ALS Association) was informative and eye-opening. Our leadership enjoyed meeting other recipients Hans Pfeffer and Jim Daniele at this event.

Kate Linder signs on as celebrity spokesperson

Aliso Viejo (October 27, 2013)—Actress Kate Linder, longtime star of daytime television’s most popular soap opera, The Young and the Restless, will be celebrity spokesperson for Trish’s Angels, a southern California-based 501(c)(3) non-profit. The organization was established in 2013 in memory of Laguna Niguel resident Trish Hoyt. The foundation is also thrilled to announce the launch of, which will serve as a portal for people and businesses interested in hosting fundraising events or making tax-deductible online donations.

At her very core, Trish Hoyt was a born caregiver. Even after her death following a heroic battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in 2012, Trish’s legacy of support and positivity will continue via the non-profit. The primary goal of the Trish’s Angels organization is to raise funds to provide financial assistance to patients currently dealing with ALS, a notoriously expensive and physically debilitating disease that is currently incurable and largely untreatable. Patients will benefit from funds raised via events sponsored by Trish’s Angels, as well as donations by corporations or private individuals.

“An ALS diagnosis is difficult enough to work through, without adding money-related stress to the mix,” said Harry Hoyt, President and Director of Trish’s Angels, and Trish’s husband of 41 years. “Our goal is to ease the financial burden so that patients and their families can focus on staying as healthy as possible, as long as possible.”

Famed soap star Kate Linder, well-known to the acting world as Y&R’s Esther Valentine, is eager to help Trish’s Angels thrive through her role as celebrity spokesperson.

“My family has been directly impacted by ALS, a truly devastating disease,” says Linder. “These patients need all of the support they can get, and I’m glad to lend a hand in making that happen.”

About ALS
ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a neurodegenerative disease with no known cure or cause. The disease causes gradual or rapid destruction of motor neurons. When motor neurons are unable to function, this caused ALS patients to gradually lose function of their arms, legs and other basic bodily roles that require muscle control, such as swallowing. Motor neuron death completely inhibits the brain’s ability to transmit messages, causing complete immobility.

About Trish’s Angels
Founded in 2013, Trish’s Angels was created to honor the life and legacy of Trish Hoyt, a loving wife, mother, friend and animal-lover, who died in 2012 following a courageous battle against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). A 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, the primary goal of the Trish’s Angels organization is to raise funds to provide financial assistance to patients currently dealing with ALS, a notoriously expensive and physically debilitating disease. Patients will benefit from funds raised via events sponsored by Trish’s Angels, as well as donations by corporations or private individuals.
